Not yet online?  Thinking of switching your hosting company?  Not sure how to go about creating your online presence?  Don’t know what a domain name server is?  Not sure where to begin?

At we have the answers and solutions for you!

Here are some basics to get started.

Q. What do you need to put yourself or your business online?

Two basic things:

  1. Your own domain name, e.g., and
  2. A web hosting account

Q. How do I get a domain name?

You apply for a domain name of your choice, e.g., through a domain name registrar.  Since there are so many websites already on the Internet, you should have a list of possible names in case your first choice is already taken.

Q. What is a domain name registrar?

A domain name registrar is an organization that allows you to register a name for yourself on the Internet that no one else in the world but you can use.  You may think of this as your address in cyberspace, the Internet.  We provide very affordable domain name registration (more than 75% less than some of our competitors!) through our sister company  A link to is available on our home page at

Q. What is a web hosting account and where can I get one?

A web hosting account is a place where you create your online presence.  It is basically storage space on a computer connected via high-speed links to the Internet.  You upload all your files for your website into your web hosting account.  Then, when a user types in your domain name in a browser, e.g. Internet Explorer, your home page will display!  We offer several very affordable hosting accounts.  Check out our homepage at for details.

Q.  So, I have a domain name reserved and I have a web hosting account, am I done?

Not quite.  There is one last thing left to do.  You need to specify how the user will get to your homepage after typing in your domain name in a browser.  This is done by specifying your domain name servers at the domain registrar where your domain was registered.

Q.  I have no clue what domain name servers are, how am I supposed to provide that information?

When you order a web hosting account, the domain name servers will be provided.  If you choose one of our hosting plans, we would provide the details and how to go about setting them up at the domain name registrar.

We hope the information provided above has been helpful.  Best of luck in your online ventures.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact us via Online Support at
